！ New Year's Celebration Events for Children and Adults Kakogawa Shogi Festa - 11th Kakogawa Professional Players' Town Shogi Festa

Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture (Mayor: Yasuhiro Okada) will hold the annual "The 11th Kakogawa Shogi Festa" on Jan. 13th, 2025 (Mon., Fri. ・).

The event will include a children's Shogi exchange, instructional games by professional Shogi players, quizzes, a Tsume-Shogi class, Kagemusha Shogi, a quiz to guess a professional player's "next move" "Next Move Meijin Sen", and "Which one is stronger? Kakogawa Seiryu Showdown! will be held.
The games will be followed by a commentary by a professional shogi player, allowing everyone to enjoy the game of shogi.

Contents ：

This is a Shogi Exchange for elementary school students and younger, even beginners who just learned Shogi can participate.

During the event time (10:20 ～ 11:20<), games will be played, and depending on the number of games played and wins/losses, prizes such as Kakogawa goods will be given away in Kishi Town

.

Also, only children who have applied in advance and won can participate in the event.

・ No time limit for games.

・ No consultation or advice is allowed during the game.

Capacity ：

① Upper elementary school students (4 ～ 6th graders)

② Lower elementary school students (1 ～ 3rd graders) and pre-school children 50 people each (* If there are too many applicants, the number will be determined by lottery)

Participation fee ：

500 yen (Please pay at the reception desk on the day of the party)

Kakogawa City has seven professional Go players who are active in the city. Kakogawa Seiryu Sen, known as a gateway to success for young professionals （ Kakogawa City ・ Kakogawa Wellness Association ・ Sponsored by the Japan Shogi Federation ） is a shogi tournament organized by the local government that has continued since 2011.
